Today, as our temps soared into the low 80s I thought it a good time to check my A/C. To make a short story even shorter there is no Chill to my AC. Tried all the usual steps and then went and got an extra can of RS 134a and went to connect to the LP valve. The connector on the car is too large by about 1mm diameter.
So I tried another brand which I just bought (NAPA) and same thing.
Does anyone know if there is an adapter for this newer and larger connector? Or is this something to get us back in the Genuine Dealerships? (I have an appointment for Monday just in case).
Thanks! Sim

Yeah, they should be all the same. I have had many Volvos prior to this one and never had any problems with the connector. I'll look around to see if there are any others. This one is high and in front of the Radiator.
Weird!

The port on my 99 is low on the passenger side between the radiator and the serpentine belt.

Sim you're looking at the wrong (high pressure) port, that's why it is a different size.
Try the P2 forum or the A/C master topic:

...and it is a good thing your can doesn't fit on the high pressure side! That's by design of course.

No leak, yet. Had it completely evacuated and recharged on Last Monday And so far so good. Good, solid cool air. Off to the detail shop on Wednesday, I hope. Then LOTS of photos and a better write-up.
Will lay it down in E-Bay, on Craigs List and a few Volvo Tracks, including the king of all, MVS!!
