Hi guys I have looked around a bunch of sites trying to find out why I cant install this version of vida but I come up empty handed, if anyone can help out i'd appreciate it.
I have xp mode, xp sp3 and ie 8, enough ram and hard drive space.
I installed from....
F:\Install\DVD\Vida_dvdheader\Main\setup.exe
then ran the patch...
F:\VIDA2012D.exe
I keep getting....
I don't have any icons on my desktop
I have searched and searched but I cannot find how to make this work.
Any help is much appreciated..

Vida MUST install on C drive, no exceptions, even if another drive is a partition off the main hard drive. The patch must be run to extract to the root drive of C, not the subfolder which Vida is installed to.

Ok quick update....
I copied the cd to my xp desktop. I ran the setup.exe from
desktop\Install\DVD\Vida_dvdheader\vida\setup.exe
Everything is installed to the default directory C:\Vida
and patch to C:\
Previously i had followed a tutorial that installed from
F:\Install\DVD\Vida_dvdheader\Main\setup.exe
It was taking forever so I left the computer working as I went to bed.
This morning it was Installed correctly, so I then ran the patch from
desktop\VIDA2012D.exe
Everything installed. I did not have time to launch the program since i was about to run late for work.
when i get home i will launch the program and then hop in the car and try plugging in dice. Fingers crossed.
Ill update later today. thanks guys

I don't know how USB passthrough mode works in Windows, but if it relies on USB stack in host OS (and your host OS is what, Windows 7?) before passing control to XP running in a virtual machine then you may have problem with old firmware in your DiCE unit. It needs to be updated under real XP. So if you will see that device appears in the system and disappears few seconds later, grab USB stick with fw updater executable, find any real XP and update DiCE there.
awesom vtl....
Im at work but once i get home ill try it.
My problem is i have the girlfriends netbook but it maxes out at 1gig ram
and my older toshiba laptops with xp native max out at 2gigs, I have heard theres procedures for editing the registry but id rather run the software with the correct amount of ram and so on.
thanks again
will report back later today
