Hi all I am a noob on this forum but have been following it for awhile and you have great info here! Maybe I can get some help with a problem my father in law is experiencing. He just bought an inexpensive 1990 740 GL for a daily back and forth to work driver. He called me and asked if I knew anything about the transmission staying in overdrive as I have a few Volvos myself. Mine are all V70 XC's, so I told him I do not know but I would ask around, which brings me here. He said the kid he bought it from had said it was an easy inexpensive fix. He (my father in law)says that the car drives fine other than when it has its last shift, that should normally be into Drive it goes straight to overdrive and it lugs until it builds to freeway speed, which then he says it drives great at the freeway speed. Any help would be appreciated. I have put a couple pictures of my Cross Country wagons in here also, thanks in advance for any help.
