Forgive me, it's girlfriend's car so I can't just walk outside to look at it. Did some searching and she's got the typical Volvo AC clutch problem where it only runs for a few minutes before giving up on her. So I'm going to adjust the shims so she can get the clutch engaged again.
Looks like the compressor clutch is pretty accessable. It it hard to hold the compressor still while I loosen the bolt?
What do I need to pull the clutch off the compressor shaft once that bolt is off?

I did recently overhaul of my compressor, and I needed to completely dismantle and disassemble it.
So, I think what you need is 10 mm spanner only and to be a little flexible to access to clutch.
Another concern is thickness of the shims you use. Don't use too thick as it won't engage .

Just in case someone is searching for this. Butt simple on a 2002 V40. Pull the RF wheel, pull the plastic out of the fender well and the compressor is right there. Your life will be a bit easier if you pull that 10mm bolt that holds the Freon line to the frame right in front of the AC Clutch.
Then you’ll need 3 M5 .80 pitch bolts. Screw two of them into the threaded holes in the clutch so you can hold it with a screw driver while you remove the 10mm bolt in the compressor clutch. After that’s out, put the third M5 bolt in the third hole, then start cranking down the three M5’s, moving around the clutch. That will pull the clutch right off the compressor. On mine, three shims were inside the clutch. Remove some, all of them, whatever it takes to get between .3mm and .5mm.
Assembly is reverse.
