2000 S80 spark plug change

Post by rusty »

I have worked on my own 240's for several years, but have had no experience on S80's. I bought a 2000 S80 and want to change the plugs. I can't even find the plugs! Where are they and how do I change them? Thanks so much for any help. Rusty

don't know if you have a T6 or not, but i changed them on my 01 s80 t6 two days ago, and you have to remove all the intake piping that runs overtop of the valve cover, then remove the black plastic cover in the center of the valve cover as well as the one to the left that covers the cam gears, then each coil has a 10 or 12mm bolt holding it to the valve cover, removes those and the coil should pull right out revealing your plug

I have a 1999 S80 T6. I changed the plugs in 1 1/2 hours. I am no expert in mechanical stuff and this seemed really easy. I was shocked when the dealer quoted me $250 for the change of plugs. A helpful parts service guy printed up the engine diagram and pointed what I needed to do. Yes, owning a 1999 s80 T6, I have become a mechanic by default... (If I want to stay out of debt and send the dealer on several cruises)
