2006 s60r back pressur problem into my pcv hose

Post by RFreakR »

I had a probleme with back pressure into my pcv valve, my pcv hose busted under my coil pack cover making a huge mess of oïl.

My mechanic change the hole pcv system and every hose related to it.
After changing all this and cleaning all the path we put everything back together,
Then iv notice the problem is not solve, i can smell lots of oil and also burning some thrue my exhaust.

I notice that their was some oil in my turbo pipe at the front near the intercooler ??

Their is some code for a misfire cylinder 1 and 3.

So to resume

-Way to much pressure in crankcase
-Misfire cylinder 1 and 3
-burning way to much oil...

Any help would be more then appreciated. Thanks in Advanced

The upper hose in the system that runs from the intake manifold to the oil trap and then to the ptc valve on the intake air hose to the turbo is $200 by itself. Are you sure he replaced that hose. I ask as many skip that hose due to its expense.

Your situation needs more diagnosis as there are several reasons extra oil can be burning including.
Leaking valve seals or guides
Damaged or worn piston rings
Damaged turbo
PCV back pressure.

To determine which one is occurring do the following tests:
1. Remove oil filler cap and place rubber glove over opening. At idle and above, once car is warmed up a suction should occur. Please post a pic of the glove at idle with engine warm.
2. A leakdown test - test should be performed on a warmed engine by a professional who has already made sure removing the plugs with a warm engine will not damage the head . Please post back with the test results and pressures held in each cylinder as well as pictures of the spark plugs.
3. While performing leakdown have pro check turbo for oil output.

Without these tests you are mostly guessing. We look forward to seeing the results.

Best Wishes,
John

Your mechanic will sort it out by starting with the basic tune up parts (plugs/coils etc). A roaming misfire with good operating ignition parts usually points to a systemic air/fuel issue.

He will likely check the MAF and O2 sensors for age and output. If the misfire has been ongoing for a while you may need a catalytic converter as well.

With a reading of a bad throttle sensor that doesn't appear when tested he may want to start with looking at the freeze frame data and the simple things like cleaning the grounds, checking the battery connections and voltage.
