I've just recently picked up a parts car. I was just removing the sump for a fellow member on the site, and this is what greeted me as the sump came off the engine:

Not seized as far as I know. Although there was/is a healthy dose of oil in the coolant. Looked nearly identical to drill swarf and there was bugger all oil stuck to it. Almost like the sump had been off and it was put there - put the sump hadn't been off. If Mel sees this post Im sure she'll comment on how much metal was in there.sailtough wrote:Yikes, did the engine turn over or was it seized?
When I pull the gearbox out of it I might throw the remains of the engine onto my stand and strip the bottom end and see if I can find a sourcedifflock54 wrote:Look like ground up bearing shells.
