1997 Volvo 960 Alarm Relay Replacement

Good evening. My car wouldn't start. I had problems with the anti-theft system before but none of the fixes worked this time. The Volvo Service Center informed me that the Alarm Relay needed to be replaced and the charge would be almost $1000.00. I found the part online for under $100.00. My question is where is the relay located on my car and could I replace it myself? Thanks for any information.
