2001 S40...Steering wheel issue

2001 S40. The horn contact needs repair. Can't get the steering wheel off. 30Torx driver...won't seat into the bolt. I am thinking, the way it feels, that the Torx head is stripped OR...it's not Torx at all. Any ideas? I would hate to drill out the bolt head...very akward position, and all those metal filings. HELP !!!
