Hi, I can't find a used fuel pump for this car, nor a rebuild kit locally, so I wondered if there was a way to breathe a little more life into the one on here. To get us through the weekend. I saw the video with the hammer approach but I doubt that will help.
I am 85% sure that it's my pump. I noticed before my daughter was leaving in it that it had a funny sound coming from underneath the car, but I couldn't find it & I even commented that it sounded like a guy moaning loudly. She turned it off and the next time it wouldn't start. It has spark but no fuel. I got nothing at all at the Schrader valve. Should I have gotten a squirt at least? It sounded like a "no gas" start. I tried the relay test with a paperclip & no luck. I really feel like the unusual sound cinches the pump. There is no sound coming from it at all when I have the access hole opened and try starting it. I had hoped that I had the "lawnmower syndrome", but that process changed nothing. The only codes I have are the same ones that I have had for months PO171 & P1308. Through this troubleshooting I think that I finally found my vacuum leak but the acceleration sensor that I found at Pullapart was dead but I doubted that either caused my current problem.

If you've got gas in the tank, a good battery and you have jumped the fuel pump relay and still couldn't get fuel at the fuel rail in the engine compartment, it does sound like a bad fuel pump. Unless someone else has a better idea, you might have to go for a part from a Volvo dealer, FCP or eEuroparts.
I saw eEuro has a Bosch insert (~$200), a complete OEM fuel pump assembly (~$400) and a Walbro repair kit (~$60) here:

1997 855 GLT (Light Pressure Turbo) still going strong. Previous: 1986 240 GL rusted out in '06, 1985 Saab 900T rusted out in '95, 1975 Saab 99 rusted out in '95, 1973 Saab 99 rusted out in '94
Thanks for the input. It was the fuel pump & I found one at PullaPart. It helps a lot to get one there because you can see how to remove it properly, or learn how not to remove it. It definitely is harder to get to, in a wagon, than it is to remove/install the pump. From what I read, most people had the most trouble with the ring removal, and I used oil filter pliers on both vehicles and had no trouble.
*For a newbie, such as myself, you only need remove the power cable on this model, from the cable harness(mine was red) to go with the pump and connect it to the other vehicle. the quick connect plugs I used my serpentine tool wrenches to slide off safely. That took time & patience! Thanks again!

Replace the Rubber Seal while you are there:

Also, seal the electrical wiring where it enters the top plastic cover with "Butyl Rope" to prevent future leak. I wrote it here:
