Hey guys. I always open my car with the key and not the remote, and have been on this car for years. So today when I went to turn the key in the driver's door to open the car, my key turned more than the 1/8th turn it takes for the lock to open. The key did about half of a rotation and then got stuck. So I had to use a little bit of force to turn the key back to the normal position and pull it out of the door. Now I have a big problem.
- Neither the remotes, nor the power door buttons on the passenger or driver doors open open or close the car.
- Pushing down on the manual door lock lever on the driver's door now makes a cracking sound, but it does work to lock the door.
- Problem is, I cannot get back in since the lock does not work now. The key freely turns 1/4 turn left and right now.
- The trunk lock and gas cap lock do not work now.
- All the windows and mirrors work perfectly.
What do I need to do to fix this? Thanks you guys and happy holidays!

sounds like an issue with the key lock in the drivers door. Id say you need to remove the drivers side door panel and take a look..

going out on a limb, I think you had some water that got into your lock and froze. you turned the tumbler half way of the full movement, ice jamming a complete cycle of the tumbler. I suspect a fuse then blew when the car tried to lock the door. I would take a hair dryer to thaw the lock then use the key to open the door . then check your door lock fuse.
hope this helps

It definitely seems like the actuator is bad. So I cannot unlock the gas door because of this issue. There must be some emergency release right? I searched the forums and looked behind the rear tail light and lifted up the carpet on the rear passenger quarter panel and tried to find a button.

Here is the quarter panel with the carpet pulled up. I cannot find a release.

EDIT: The S70 does not have the coat hanger wire. You have to pull the tab on the actuator to release the door. Takes some small fingers to get in there.
Now, the door handle works from the inside and outside, just the locks do not work. This is the actuator problem right? Or is something else broken?
