Hey
My 850 T-5R Wagon needs a suspension replacement up front since its gotten verysoft in big bumps and very hard on low freguencybumps its everything else than comfy. when i say hard it doesnt dampen anything it feels like.
so ive been looking on theese http://www.ebay.com/itm/Koni-Volvo-850- ... 35c8dcf93c not especially from that dealer but that combo. or is there anything else that somene has used and can review?
I like it more comfy since i drive alot with it. never do track days. i want the koni fsd but to expensive.
Or can i go a cheaper way to just replace front dampers and use old springs? since my nivomats working perfectly so far. then with what dampers i should go with.
Thanks

Your car came from the factory with these Sachs struts, it's what I would recommend, with your old springs, if you want comfy:

Thanks, think i will go for them, its the cheapest option aswell it seems.
But hows the bilstein TC ?
If my shocks havent been replaced before, they have lived on over 30 000k Kms but theyre still not that sloppy when braking and turning. can they still be worn out since they take bumps so badly.

Your shocks have 30k kms on them? As in roughly 18,000 miles? That is nothing, I would be surprised if they are bad. But if you mean 300k (about 185,000 miles) then I guarantee it is time to replace them. And yes, they can be worn and still brake and turn reasonably well.
Be sure to check out the spring seats and the strut bearings, if they are worn out then the car will not take bumps well.
I use Bilstein TC on some of my cars and I like them, the TCs are slightly stiffer than the Sachs. But on my R sedan, I have the Sachs and like the ride. I don't know how the TC would pair up with the stiffer springs that came on the R.

Yea i mean 300k.
Thanks for the great input! think ill go with sachs then, with the complete kit seats and bearings. or should i buy xc90 seats right away? Read that they are alot better.

If you buy the Volvo brand spring seat, you will get the XC90 part as Volvo now uses the same part number for XC90 and for the 850. Or the Boge part is fine, they make the Volvo ones. The issue is longevity. Aftermarket spring seats is taking a big risk, the only reliable ones I know of are the IPD HD ones.

+1 OEM/XC90 or IPD HD spring seats only.
The other option you might consider besides the OEM Sachs is the Koni FSD set. I haven't done a suspension yet, but I have read those do live up to their hype.

Mine is lowered with the Voght springs and I have the Bilstien TC's. I busted one hitting a pot hole what would be the best replacement for my application?

Depends what you want to spend. To minimize cost, get just 1 of what you already have.
Otherwise, the IMO best replacement for your application is to get rid of the lowering springs and put a practical street-worthy suspension back on it. Nothing wrong with the TC's if you like how they feel.
