Hi
I purchased a used transmission for my daughters s60, there is a slight discrepancy in the part #, my transmission is 55-50sn Part#8636761 and the replacement transmission with much lower miles is 55-50sn part #8636081. It looks like all I have to do is switch the sensor wiring and the shift mechanism over on the transmissions the wires are different lengths. It looks like this is a 2000 tranny will it work with the control module.
Thanks for the reply Bret

There maybe a software issue in doing this, there keep the old transmission, there is a guy on the board who can (via DICE) download the old software and then clone onto your new part. Or you can go to volvo and have them use VIDA to reload or update the software to the ETM. Not always cheap..
Dice are found on Ebay for around $100 and you can register for Vida but its expensive ($150 for 3 days plus the cost of the software)..
Doublebug I bealive is Henry's Handle!
Thanks & Good luck, sounds like a fun project.

I'm afraid you got a turbo transmission and the part number you listed for what is in car is non turbo. The gear ratios are not the same. It will set wrong gear ratio codes. The TCM that works with turbo engines only know that ratio and vice versa for non -turbo
