Brake Booster Replacement

My brake booster is leaking vacuum on my 89 740 gl w/o ABS causing a rough idle as diagnosed by a volvo mechanic. I need to know if it is that difficult to replace it myself, if any special tools are required . Any advice is greatly appreciated. Recommendations for parts store needed.

Are you really shure that it is the brake booster leaking. A very common fault is that the fastening for the vacuum hose in the brake booster is leaking. This is just a conical rubber plug sticked into the booster caliper. Remove it, put on som Permatex or equal and hopefully the booster will not leak any.
