I've replaced this emissions component once with a used one....
The original one, when removed from the car, I could easily blow air through it. The used one, I couldn't...so I placed it on the car.
The negative pressure in the gas tank disappeared.
The negative pressure is back again....and the purge valve is easy to blow through now...!
Question: Are you supposed to be able to blow through the valve like that? Is that indicative of a non-functioning purge valve?
1998 S90 Evap purge valve (shut off valve)
Just replaced the purge valve with a new one (Dorman brand). I couldnt get air through the new one...and I saw a video on Youtube that says the purge valve is defective if you can blow air through it...
Installed the new one....NO pressure problems at the gas cap....!
