2000 Volvo S40 Wiring broken to gear selector indicator

Post by notalanm »

I was replacing my gear shifter knob yesterday, and I accidentally popped the entire gear selector panel out of the center console when I pulled the gear shifter off. In the process of putting it back together, both wires that were soldered to the circuit board on the gear shifter indicator broke off. Does anyone have a diagram to show which wire goes to which position on the circuit board (black & yellow wires)? I did not get a chance to note their locations before they broke.

I don't have any experience soldering, but I figure this is a fairly easy repair once I know which wire goes where. Please let me know if that is not the case.

Thanks in advance!

In case anyone was wondering, you have to replace the wiring at a connection point beneath the gear selector indicator that also includes the bulb and holder. It's part # 30856078 and runs about $14-17.
