2006 v-8 Engine Noise When Cold
2006 v-8 Engine Noise When Cold
The V-8 is making a noise when the engine is cold. The outside temperature plays a part in the pitch of the noise. After the engine warms up, the noise goes away. It sounds like a lifter noise, cam chain tensioner? It's not a rod knock, but resembles that type of noise at idle. If I increase the RPMs the noise doesn't get louder. Seems to be hydraulic related? That's why I'm thinking a lifter or the timing chain tensioner? The engine has always had clean oil. I'm currently running Mobil 1 0-40 with 1 qt. of Lucas oil stabilizer. Does anyone have a suggestion on what it might be. There is 144,000 on the V-8.
