98 V70XC Keeps pulling to right
98 V70XC Keeps pulling to right
I really don't understand what is going on with my car. I've had it to the alignment shop 3 times and it sill pulls to the right. I changed out the control arm, strut mount, even calipers. I've asked the alignment place if there is anything loose, worn, or on the verge of needing to be replaced but they said no, everything looks great. The only thing he did say is the camber can't be adjusted and the one side is about a degree different than the other. The other weird thing is when braking the steering wheel jerks to the left a bit. It's gotten better since replacing the parts, and since the third time at the alignment shop, but it still does it. Is there anything else I should consider?

Dragging brake pad, stuck caliper, warped wheel, bad wheel beating, bent frame.
Is the right wheel hot after driving? Compare to left, don't touch rotor with hands though...don't ask...

Tires can do this, even brand new ones. Rotate them and see if that makes a difference.

Did you only change one control arm or both?jmana wrote: I changed out the control arm, strut mount, even calipers.
Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.

One, the other one is fine. The passenger side one had quite a bit of play in the bushings.regent wrote:Did you only change one control arm or both?jmana wrote: I changed out the control arm, strut mount, even calipers.

Change the other one too. Even if they are both VOLVO, no guarantee they are from the same mfg. I had a similar problem with a Mazda a couple of years back. Changed both to the same brand and all my pulling went away. Camber can be tweaked by loosening up things and trying to move the strut a little bit. An alignment shop should know a bit about this. Not an official adjustment, just using built in play to move things around.
