1983 240DL Can I use an AMM from a 1985 for my 1983?

I found out today that my 240DL issue was a dead AMM. my part number is #0280212002 but I found a few on ebay for a 1985 with part #0280212007 (only the last number changed) and was wondering if I could use those since the plugs match up perfectly. Ironically, the engine is from a 1985 so this is sort of a dumb question. maybe it was time to get the #007 anyway.

No.
You need the one used on 83-84. any 83 or 84 DL or GL used the AMM/MAF sensor you need. I think 84 760 Turbo used the same one also. In 1985 Volvo started using LH 2.2 and it used a different MAF.

The metal AMM was used with LH2.1.

Even if the Engine was swapped to an 85'? It would seem I could use the #007 on an 85' engine no?

Have you checked the wiring diagrams for the pin out?

yes they are the 6 pin type
