2006 S40 1.6d, Car won't turn over after battery change

hi

Hello im hoping someone can help me I have 1.6d S40 I've changed the battery today as the old battery had collapsed, since replacing the battery the car will not start it comes on attempts to turn the engine but it wont start.... the new battery has plenty of charge and the terminals, wires, connectors are all fine.

All comes up ok on the dash everything is as normal but the car just won't fire up.

Are you saying that it turns over, just doesn't catch and start?

after replacing the battery the engine started up for a minute or so after that nothing, it turns but wont start.

Ok. Going to ask a few basic questions then.

Was it running fine before the battery change?

Have you checked the three basics, fuel, spark, and air?

Is the new battery installed correctly +to+ and -to-?
