1998 S70 GLT Baro sensor check

Post by Atis »

Hello all,

I need some advice, how to check whether my Baro sensor is functioning properly or not.
I have tried with OBDII, but that data is not supported... :(

Thanks!

This sensor (pink color) hardly ever goes wrong. Remove it and clean it.
What is the reason to check it, are you getting bored?

:D :D :D To be honest... it could be! :D :D :D

I am chasing a slow turbo spool-up issue and decided to check through all of my sensors, which can have an effect on the performance.
I have seen somewhere the volumetric efficiency correction map of the Motronic 4.4 based on the rpm and baro readings, and it cuts back the "target load" if the barometric pressure is low. So therefore I would like to check whether it is OK or not.

If you are getting bored, then leave it alone.
I do not recall this issue ever comes up in this forum (I may be wrong though).

OK, now that you are getting bored, do a PCV overhaul, that is more fun to do...

PCV was done half a year ago ;)
Next major step is the water hose replacement.

Meanwhile i have found some info on the baro: 0.4V at 20 kPa and 4.65V at 115 kPa.
