Hello all!
I have take a little look around to see if anyone has had this problem and the closest i could find was
this, https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... 3&p=264702
Yesterday as i was parked at the bank waiting in the drive thru my car just stopped and all the dash lights came on. I started the car no problem pulled forward to do banking, and while in park again it stopped running. Again i turned it on no problem and drove home. I thought i would leave it in park again to see if it would do it and sure enough it shut off. I also noticed while i drove around yesterday i would occasionally feel a loss of power for a second but would come back to accelerating. Not sure what to think?
initial thoughts right now;
via the listed thread i looked at could be the b+ cable
cam sensor
ignition coil
mass air flow sensor
thanks for your help!

Most common cause of random stalling with these cars is a failing fuel pump relay, then fuel pump.

ok so i tried the paper clip in the fuel relay spot as listed in the video, and the pump is going fine, but the car is shutting off still. it actually got worse as i was driving today and it died while i was in the middle of the turn!
would the fuel pump still be an issue if i can hear it running even after the car shut off?

Do you have a CEL? Any codes?

Barring a big and sporadic vacuum leak, in your list of possible ideas, I would move MAF sensor to the top. Especially if the car starts to become difficult to restart.
IMHO, if you elect to replace it, buy Bosch OEM only. Don't waste money on the rebuilt or aftermarket stuff.

Not really but the 850 gurus here will point you to the most likely suspects.
I will also digit the Idle Air Control Valve accusingly. They often gum up and give poor idling performance. I sneer slightly because I don't have one on my ME7 1999

Ok so cleaned the maf sensor and the idle air control valve, went and got the code read as it was still a little rough idle and got code (although there is no check engine light and got
p0103
and
p0133
would the oxygen sensor cause the maf any problems? didn't know if it could be the other way around.
anything else i can do to the maf? is replacing it the only option?
thanks!

Try disconnecting it and driving for a few days with no MAF. The. Engine defaults to a fixed set of parameters but if that eliminates the stalling, you have found your culprit.
Are you still stalling out? The IAC is usually the culprit for stalls pre 1999.
New Bosch only for MAFs if you replace. There are lots of frustrated people who try junkyard, the Busch brand from eBay , come back here eat humble pie.
Those codes are pointers to either component failure or, more likely IMHO , a vacuum leak or other problem. Once you have a problem with this fine tuned machines, you get sensor errors from other parts of the circuit which aren't necessarily bad.
