Volvo 850 IPD Overload Coils Installed

Post by Baptiste1106 »

Just installed my IPD rear overload coils with rear Koni STR.T shocks. Drove the first day and noticed significant difference over OEM. Its been about 7 days since i installed them. I carry all my mobile mechanic tools with me everywhere i go, hence why i got the overload vs the drop springs. I noticed today that the passenger sits a bit lower then the drivers side, anyone know why ?

Could it be one seated itself incorrectly on the spring seat? I've always had a hard time with the coils rotating slightly and getting out of the channels when putting things back together.

That looks like the trunk of my Sedan.

I could only imagine Matthews opinion of the springs not being seated exactly the same. Another possibility could be a slight binding of the delta arms after being raised.

Try bouncing the car by hand a few times and listen for a spring sound.
I know it seems funny, and don't let your neighbors see.
It is worth a try. My wagons left spring seemed to pop back into place a few days after I replaced the rear shocks.

Delta arms are funky things. Had something similar after some bushing and spring changes. One day hit a huge pot hole and it "thanked" back into position. In my case the passenger side was high.

Exactly how level is the concrete you're on? This is a hard thing to measure.

Take it somewhere else and see if the measurement changes.

I think the colour clash of the blue and orange is a more pressing issue
