2002 XC Towing

Post by JeffHicks »

So my XC began blowing oil everywhere the other day. Pretty sure I've got a plugged PCV Oil Trap, and it took out the front crankshaft seal. Either that or one of the oil lines to the turbo-charger? It's all dumping out right in that area.

Anyway, it's at my brother's place, which is 175 miles away. He's got a shop, and we could work on it there, but time, distance, and parts availability would be a problem.

My question: If I disconnect the rear driveshaft, is there any reason I cannot roll this up on a tow dolly behind my truck, and bring it home? Obviously the Volvo is AWD, but can I do this in much the same way I would have towed an old RWD car?

Never mind. I got my information on a different Volvo tech forum.
