2000 S70 rear hydraulic engine mount/cushion
Can any body point my to a good tutorial for replacing the rear hydraulic mount/engine cushion. There are a couple of youtube videos that are only a little bit helpful... the one by FCP is decent, but at times too close up to put everything in context.
Ok, I'm in the middle of trying to do this job. I've removed all of the bolts per this video:
Then when I go to lift the engine I just end up lifting the whole car. Am I missing something? I loosened the bolt on the upper torque mount too. I'm kind of at a loss here. Any ideas?

Ok, I got the engine to lift. But not enough to get that rear mount out. It would lift a bit, and a bit more, and then I'd see it start coming off of the jack stands... no es bueno.
I worked on that bugger all day, and just could not get the old mount out of there. I'd jack it, lower it, try again. And then my floor jack was just dropping on its own after only a few seconds, so I went and bought a canister jack (after I added oil, and checked the seal on the oil filler cap and it didn't help). That held better.
After working on it for about 6 hours, i was getting tired, and frustrated and wrenched my back pretty good. So finally I just put it all back together. And it was idling smooth as silk. Far less engine vibration than I've ever felt from it. I thought maybe it was my tired mind playing tricks on me. But i took it around the block, and it was smooth. I pulled into my parking spot, and for a second I thought it had stalled. But no, it was just running really smoothly.
I guess I tightened, or reseated the right thing, because i didn't actually manage to replace anything, but feels much, much better. Let's see how long that lasts.
