Volvo V70 '98 AWD shaft output boot ripped

Volvo V70 '98 AWD shaft output boot ripped

Car was bought used with 46,000 on it. After a mechanical evaluation, they found that the CV boot cover was ripped. How quickly should I have that replaced. Is it easy enough to do?
There is also a bit of play in the sway bar link. They said it's not a problem that has to be fixed, but I would like it to be back to new condition. What's involved with fixing that problem?

that may help. If you just replace the boot, I'd do it soon. Exposed grease attracts dirt like a vacuum. And dirt in there = gear destruction.
