Following photos and notes extends the pioneer write up of Ozark Lee https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=9402.
The project included replacing coil springs, delta links, and anchorage mounts - all using new nuts and bolts. There was plenty of room and time to replace muffler too, see https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=61022.
Battery negative terminal was disconnected.
After raising the car, wheels off, springs and socks were removed.
Now the rear spring seat rests on a movable cart.
At this point you have all the fasteners removed, the anchorage mount is marked for alignment, anti-torsion bar removed.
Now pull apart the two transverse arms just far enough that mounts are out of respective mounting points - floor jack and cart will help it walk away.
The delta tool makes removing it a snap

Please reply w/ photos if you can per question, if not I'll do the best I can to follow your write up photo wise

Holy Smoke,
I didn't realize xHeart is such a serious Saturday Mechanic haha!
Great photos...
I have not done this (rear dealta link bushing) yet because the 1998 S70 GLT car is now the kids car using for high school, so...I am slowly losing interest in the 1998 S70; but I just acquired a 2005 XC90 2.5T for the wife, so I am still in the Volvo game lol...

BTW,
Make sure you replace the rubber brake hose that sits on top of the delta link.
It is much much easier now that the delta links are dropped from the car.
Heat will help undo the connection.

Most-excellent write up. My passenger side bushing was busted just like yours...
Some of you may have noticed I just did did the delta links and bushings on my 850 too. It's a monster job. One delta link did not want to come out. and neither bushing was willing be removed. The Sawzall, Kroil, a BFH and much cursing was required!
Also be prepared to replace lots of brake parts. Calipers if the bleeders are frozen shut, brake lines if rusted stuck. These cars are old, and for us in the "salted roads" areas there is much corrosion to deal with.
Here's what my old links looked like,

Good advice! If I may add...be sure to open the bleeders at the rear calipers when heating the joints, or else the rubber brake line will explode when the brake fluid in it boils...ask me how I know!cn90 wrote:BTW,

You need a 4 wheel alignment after all the work. I also have a puller 9995497. I used the puller as a pusher to install the link

Thank you for sharing your work RussB.RussB wrote: You need a 4 wheel alignment after all the work...
I will add the write up for alignment mark.
Meanwhile, here is the alignment report from a local shop.
What do you guys think?
