Central locking Problem

I have a 2001 v40 and love it but the central locking is driving me crazy
I will lock the car and come back finding it unlocked but the alarm is still active. The problem seems to be worse when it has rained. I would like to check control unit but don't know where it is. Can someone please help me with anoying problem.
