97 850 auto hard start wont drive, dies

Post by shrtskts »

Hey guys I've had an s1 code (p7050?) for a while with no limp home mode. the car has driven fine, started hard in the morning but drove like a champ. a few months ago I had an issue with my car and it wouldn't start because of a broken ground to the transmission from the battery. Now I'm not sure how it had happened but most of my contacts on my battery are rigged. i basically have two washers pinching all the wires to the battery (I obviously need to fix all my contact points and make them legit.) also when i had found the broken ground, i basically left it hanging and didn't connect it and re wired a new wire. I'm not sure if i just have a bad connection to the transmission and that is giving me the problem.

MY PROBLEM: The car wont start if it does its hard to, i can just about hear each piston slowly fire, and then i'm lucky if it does kick all the way on, it normally quits. If i can get the car to idle, if i try to drive it, the car just dies out.

Is my problem the fact that all of my contact aren't any good? is it that i didn't fix the broken ground with the same wire and left it hanging? I'm just looking for some encouraging words to sleep well tonight before I attempt to tackle the job tomorrow. The car sat for 3 days, the longest since i've gotten it.

Ps. I am currently 4 1/2 hours from home
