94 850 turbo code clearing with torque

my 94 turbo has been throwing 142 and 232 about every 125 km regularly, I have a new set of knock sensors but haven't installed them. I recently got a bluetooth dongle and read the code with torque, it said p0172 so I cleared the codes. Now it has been 450 km and no codes is it possible that I wasn't clearing it completely with the underhood buttons and now torque completely cleared them ? When searching for the problem before I found a torn hose on the IAC but was still getting the codes after I cleared them I am glad that the codes are gone but wonder what happened
