Intermittent loss of power/stalling
Intermittent loss of power/stalling
We have a '94 850 Wagon that seems to have acquired random losses of power for about 30seconds and occassional stalling problem after Volvo dealer worked on fuel recall. Took it back to dealer who speculated it might be the fuel pump, although nothing showed up on the diagnostics. Took it to another mechanic who observed stalling then replaced distributor cap and rotor. Still stalls randomly, with no warning lights. Have not noticed a pattern related to temperature, drive distance, speed, etc. but has occurred frequently at intersections. Apparently there are dozens of possible causes and the approach seems to be hit and miss. Any suggestions on how we can narrow down the choices to minimize costs and repair time?
