01 v70 t5 Hesitant throttle after having tb repaired
Re-installed my throttle body after having it rebuilt thru BBA Remanufacturing. Put it back together, let it sit with the key in the #2 position for abut 15 minutes before starting. The car fired right up, but after letting it run for a few minutes, it was really hesitant to rev's. Took it for a ride and it sarted to clear out, but around 4000rpm's, it doesnt wanna go past that. I have about 20 miles on it now. Is it self calibrating as i drive possibly? No codes, idles really smooth. Any ideas?

well the light just came on, p1171, throttle actuation potentiometer sign.2 range/performance. Never had this code previous to the throttle body being rebuilt. Im gonna pull it in the garage and check for obvious air leaks. Is this possibly something wrong with the rebuild on BBA's end?

No calibtation required on 99-01 throttles. It should work straight away.
Do check the band clamp around the throttle as thw hose can have a fold.
If all is OK on your end take note of the codes and return it to BBA.

Just did a lil research, and my mass air is from a p80, and not a p1 like it should be. So off to FCP in the morning to pick up the right Mass air.precopster wrote:No calibtation required on 99-01 throttles. It should work straight away.

All 2.4 T MAFs are the same 99-02
It's not the year or the body style, it's the engine and the engines are the same

When i called the dealer, the bosch part number they gave me is different than whats in the car. He's the one that said it appears to be from the earlier years.JRL wrote:All 2.4 T MAFs are the same 99-02

The mass air that's in the car is a Bosch part # 0 280 218 045, dealer said by part number is supposed to be Bosch part # 0 280 218 088.

Your car is known as a P2 . They didn't build a P1.
Mass airflow for your engine can be substituted by 0280 218 088 which is used to '07 in a different engine series to yours (B5254T2) Your engine series is B5244T3 which was also used in 2000 on P80 body.
The 0280 218 045 also substitutes the 0280 218 108 and was used by dealers and indie repairers mainly due to a listing error by Bosch afew years ago. It still works ok but yours obviously failed.
The CORRECT maf for your engine is 0280 218 108 or 8670263 OEM number which is confirmed by FCPs lists. It's also cheaper.
Dealers are often incorrect.

I realized i put p1 later on out of fustration. When i went to FCP this morning, they came up with the part # ending with 108, but went with the # the dealer gave me. The car is a whole different animal now! HArd to believe the difference.precopster wrote:Your car is known as a P2 . They didn't build a P1.
