Dreaded Flashing Arrow!! PNP switch?
I started my 95 850 turbo this morning. It was cold last night and cold this morning. As I drove the transmission got stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear and I got the flashing arrow and check engine light, the car then ran really slowly. I pulled in to a parking lot and turned off the engine and then waited for awhile. I started it back up and drove fine after I let it warm up but the flashing arrow and check engine light remain. Does this sound like the PNP switch? Should I take it to my trusted dealer and pay a higher price but be assured of quality or take it to a volvos only repair shop for cheaper service. i guess I can expect to pay 200-400 dollars right? I say the OEM part for $125 on line. Could the transmission by going out so soon? I only have 63,000 miles on the car. Thanks for your help!

PNP switch....YES. Read the post above about these. Replace, or they can be disassembled and cleaned if you're mechanically inclined. Here is a link to how the guy did it: http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.ph ... =45221&hl=
