2002 S80 Climate Control Module

Post by EChem »

Hi all:

A couple of times within a week I had a message on the DIM pop up about an electrical system problem that went away quickly. I went to Advance Auto, took the battery out and had them test, it was a little low but fine. Put back in and had them do a load test, was also fine. Hadn't been driving it and weather was single digits for a couple of weeks so I was starting every couple days and drove for 5-10 minutes a few times. Last time I drove it, the lights were dimming as if just running off the battery. Then the ABS light came on, and CCM stopped working. Drove back home and charged. Started and ran fine. ABS light not on, but DIM now displaying engine system service required, electrical system service required popped on and went off again, and nothing on CCM and light for shift position not working. Searched and found a thread that mentioned after a jump, sometimes CCM needs resetting by touching battery cables and locking/unlocking drivers door repeatedly. Tried and no luck.

How long should battery cables be shorted and should driver's door lock be done using remote, lock button on door panel, or just manually with the lock knob and does there need to be a set number of times to lock/unlock?

How do I determine what the DIM service engine message and intermittent el. system message require? No engine codes thrown.

Thanks,
EChem
