2004 XC90 Left/Driver Headlight Problem

Post by rmikulec »

Neither the low or high beam operate on the left/driver side. I have done the following.

1. Swapped the working bulb on the passenger side with driver side. Again, passenger side worked so both bulbs are good.
2. Checked the voltage in 17/18 under the hood.
3. Checked / swapped the fuses in 17/18 under the hood.
4. Checked the voltage in 30/31 in the passenger compartment.
5. Checked / swapped the fuses in the passenger compartment.
6. Checked the voltage to the back of the headlamp assembly and all checked out OK.
7. Swapped the working bulb socket on the passenger side with driver side. Again, passenger side worked so both bulb sockets are good.

Driving me crazy! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I posted info on a chip ($5 or so) but you have to solder it. It is somewhere in the forum...

It could be a bad headlight switch or relay; look at the CEM for the relay.
