2000 V70XC Using Dexron IV ATF
2000 V70XC Using Dexron IV ATF
About 25,000 miles ago I changed my ATF but I used Dexron IV. Specifically this stuff, http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/valv ... /8150020-p At the time I didn't realize that the proper fluid type is Dexron III. When I change it again, should I use the fluid I linked or should I switch to Dexron III?

That stuff is fine, don't worry about it

Theoretically there is no such thing as Dexron III anymore since GM quit licensing it (Funny how that works when the patent runs out). Dex IV will work just fine but there have been some TSBs on other cars about not using Dex VI. GM is pretty insistent that Dex VI not be used in a Chevy transfer case and that originally called for Dex III.
