1990 240 Check Engine Light

Our check engine light comes on then later engine won't start .Noticed number six fuse appeared burned. Changed fuse engine started, light went out. Six weeks later light is on again. Fuse is not burned.This might be the third or fourth time this has happened. Bought this 240 used, and is driven for short trips .Can anyone help shed light on possible causes? Appreciate Response Thanks
