1994 850 rear lower shock mount bolt snapped

Now what?! I'm so irritated right now. It came off no problem, and then when I tightened it down, snap! I hadn't even got it down to spec yet. How do these even come out?

Upon further review, looks like I'm screwed.

Pretty much. The good news is that the delta links are pretty cheap at the junk yard.

 Well, that's not what I wanted to hear. The cheap part is okay. But then again, I don't know if its something I'm willing to try tackling myself, so it could cost me a small fortune. I was sure hoping I didn't have to replace the whole thing. It would be nice if those were removable/replaceable.

I was able to get two or three threads of a nut to grab onto the stub. Maybe that'll get me to the shop without too much rattling.

We have had a member that have had a shop weld a new stud on but it wound up being a bigger hassle than just changing the trailing arm. The factory stud is tapered and the straight bolt replacement never held the shock on properly.

I was just thinking about that. What if only the threaded portion was cut off and welded up with a new one? I'm investigating this.

I just had to deal with this. I used a dremel tool with a grinding wheel to grind the diameter of the stud down to 12mm a little past the thread. I then used a die to cut the threads deeper. This allowed for a lug nut with a tapered face to get more thread engagement. I haven't driven much like this. Hopefully it holds up.

This is with a Nivomat shock which has tapers in the bore for the lug nut to nest into. I am assuming the standard shocks have the same taper on each side of the bore, but if for some reason they don't this probably wouldn't work.
