Has anyone had good luck with meyle rotors as far as not warping and not rusting? I've read good things about them and the price is good (around $34).
I need some new rear rotors and I'm probably going to have to order them. I spent the day driving around to car parts stores and found nothing much. Carquest could get zimmermans but they were too expensive for a 16 year old car, especially on the rear brakes.

they are good. the only cheaper "good quality" ones are the ac delco ones (21 dollars each). Besides these two, this price range is only reserved for the cheapest of ebay junk

I bought 4 Chinese no name rotors and pads on eBay a few years ago for $180. 50K miles later they are great. I recently bought extra pads from the same seller, but when I looked at the old ones, they look almost new so I won't be changing them for a long time.

Thanks. I don't want low quality since I'm trying to get 2 to 5 more years out of the car and I don't want to have to replace them again. I've spun the dice before with cheapest available and it never ends well for me. The only reason I put on the cheapest pads I could find is that they will be coming right back off in a week or two. Others may be luckier than me with cheap parts.mika wrote:they are good. the only cheaper "good quality" ones are the ac delco ones (21 dollars each). Finding the value is much more difficult than getting the very best. You can usually identify the best by the price tag.
I have read good things about Raybestos on this board but don't know where to get them. I'll have to search around. The nice thing about the meyles is they are available a few places with free shipping.

Look up the part on FCP website and read the ratings (user experience)--it is good. Certainly good enough for the rear which only does about 30% of the braking. I personally have not used them, but I would have confidence buying them.

Thanks. I did that yesterday. I haven't seen too many reviews on FCP for anything that wasn't good, though. I haven't shopped there much maybe that's why (limited experience with the website). They have great customer service. I had a problem with an order once and they bent over backwards to correct it.dosbricks wrote:Look up the part on FCP website and read the ratings (user experience)--it is good. I'd have no issues with Meyle rotors. I have had good luck with them. I used Volvo pads and the next time I do a brake job on my son's 97 (%) I'm going to use Akebono. The factory pads are super dusty.
@scratchy2000 If you can do some basic wrenching I'd say order the parts yourself. If you get intimidated by the job take them to your shop and they should put them on for you. That will save you $200 of pads and rotors that way. It's not a terrible job to do as long as you have a set of jack stands. Be safe.

I'm sorry, I apologize. It was not intentional to have two threads about the exact same thing although they both sort of evolved into that. The question I asked in the first thread was too broad so I narrowed it down to one thing and reposted a related but different question about Meyle rotors. I'll be more focused on what I ask in the future.abscate wrote:Mod note - post deleted and threads merged due to multiple postings...(please don't do this)
