2000 V70-XC Fuel tank drain

Can anyone give me the easiest/best method to drain the fuel from the tank for this model?

Yes, everything works but the car has been sitting for almost a year and I neglected to use any stabilizer so I'd rather not run the old gas through the engine.

If the fuel pump works it is easy. Remove the stem from the schrader valve on the fuel rail and hose clamp on a piece of fuel line that you run to portable tank(s). Jumper the fuel pump relay between the socket positions associated with pins 15 and 87, and turn on the key. The fuel pump will do the work for you and if you need to stop to change tanks just turn off the key.

Just run the gas through, add a bottle of Techron if you want. When you reach half tank, fill it with a nice half tank of premium and smile.

Bad gas myths are all over the internet. I run old boat gas through all of my cars every spring with no problem.

I think you are far enough away from Iowa that you actually get real gasoline. After 6 months the local "summer blend" with the addition of ethanol that I buy around here doesn't even smell like fuel anymore and it will barely run. I think the last time I actually bought real premium unblended gasoline for my car that was around Louisville, KY a couple of years ago and I was astonished at how well the Platinum ran and how good the mileage was.
