95 volvo 960 idles like it is about to cut off Topic is solved

The car rides smooth when you step on the gas but when you come to a stop it idles like its about to cut off and sometimes it does. I changed the spark plugs and fuel filter to no avail....i need help this car has only 90K

My experience with this situation was a blown intake manifold gasket on a 95 960.

While you're at it, check and make sure you don't have any fuel smells in the engine compartment. (If so, probably a leaking fuel rail. Replace it before you have a car fire.)

A common maintenance problem is a dirty throttle body and a sticking Idle Air Control Motor. Try simply removing the Throttle body and IAC and cleaning them in a spray cleaner designed for this purpose, reinstall with new gaskets. Also chech all vacuum lines and fittings for leaks

Hi there, most probably there is a small leek from the manifold gasket, the nuts get loose over time and need to be tightened before this happens.

What codes do you get? Also check the AMM to see if it is working, simply remove plug while engine running , if there is no difference(will set off engine check light), then thats not working, but check the connections at the sensor plugs first, make sure that there is no corrosion.(remove cleen and spray contact cleener)
