2003 S60 Locations of A/C / heat system actuators or sensor

Post by thirdstick »

So I have a problem with my climate control system. Fan goes strong and air is properly cool and warm, but very little finds its way out of the vents. It just seems like the air is trapped in my dashboard somewhere manually switching positions from upper, middle, and lower, I hear a slight actuator sound of confusion. Is it the actuator or a sensor? Blend door or air flap actuator? Is there a difference? I suppose two adjust the temperature (one for each side), and I assume one adjusts the direction that I presume is the culprit. Any tips on how to fix / remove? Pics?

If it's any relevance, my DIM recently died and I reflowed it back to functional status. My air direction issue occurred around the time the DIM started exhibiting symptoms of impending doom.

Thanks.

so, update: this is directly related to my temperature settings, not the air direction. When switching the temperature from the coldest to warmest setting, it fixes itself. I cannot use the automatic climate control without the issue happening. should I replace the blend door actuator or temperature sensor?

If the temp setting is changing the flow, I think either the evap core or heater core are plugged from airflow.

The temp settings don't control the flow motors at all, except the blend doors

when the air flow is reduced, can you see near the engine if the a/c lines seem to have iced up?

Sorry for the late reply.
They do not ice up.
