My girlfriend was driving her 98 V70 GLT light pressure turbo 209K over to the beach on Sunday in 90 degree plus weather, stop and go traffic, and a low mountain pass of about 1800 feet. We live less than 100 feet above sea level. Her car started dying and the CEL was flashing. She pulled over and turned it off and let it sit for a bit. She re-started and it seemed to have recovered. She has been driving it since with no problems and the CEL still on. I pulled the codes today and had P0108 MAP/Baro sensor high, P0300, P0301,P0302, and P0305, all misfire codes. The CEL is now off and the car is still doing good after another 30 miles or so. She also said she smelled a sulfur smell when the car quit. She wasn't sure if it was the car or something else in the area.
Through searching the site, I find that the MAP/Baro sensor sometimes shares faults with the accelorometer, and the AC high pressure sensor.
Any thoughts on this or was it maybe just a fluke with an aging car?
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Cheers!
