Hi there folks, I think I have an odd issue here and would like to know if any of you could gimme some enlightment.
Some months ago, after crack my radiator, I brought my car to fix it, and took the opportunity to fix the turbo leakage. ( I should mention here, that sometimes, passenger door unlocked by itself, rear wiper died on my 4th month with the car, driver mirror sometimes moved up when I unlocked the doors.) Oh, I think its worth to say, the car loose acceleration twice before this event, for few seconds and returned to normal operation after restarted.
Well, few days after the job was done, the car just stopped, but two days before final departure, the shift lock fuse burnt twice and car didn’t had any power on the wheels. As soon it died, I received transmission alert and alarm system requiring service. The car was tolled back to the shop and diag was, injectors failed and throw too much gasoline on cylinders 1 and 4. The result, you guys imagine, lower engine rebuild (bloody expensive, indeed). I sent the car to a Volvo specialist shop to do this job, the guys delivered it amazingly good, but alarm system was still there (and sun roof, dead).
Couple of months after the engine rebuild, the gearbox went south less than a mile after I washed the car, but a simple external wash; Transmission service light again and this time the car was moving, so, I was able to drive, but only 3rd gear and no reverse. The day before this issue, the car battery died on me (this battery was 6 months old only), car didn’t start at all, after few minutes, it was working fine again. I stopped the car and called a friend who works with auto transmissions, we went on the procedure to remove the battery and plug it back (key on position 2 and so on), well, battery dead again; A friend helped with his car and we managed to turn my V70 on. For my surprise, I got alert for dead brake lights, shut it off and on again, alarm went away, but lights were brighter on one side… but engine running at 1500 rpm on neutral. Dont know if it worth to mention, but headlight wiper on passenger side was pointing outside, but as the pic took on the wash few minutes before, its on the right place. . As gearbox was alive and I drove till my friend’s shop.
As soon as we met, he plugged the OBD scanner and, it revealed some tragic news (but I was aware it would happen due to a weird downshift down from 2nd to 1st and harsh reverse engagement was happening), “solenoid A P0753S”. But with all that electronic mess, we were a bit unsure if it was indeed the gearbox. We started to looked for water leakage over the electronics, but we didn’t find anything that would suggest such thing, except the carpet was a bit humid below the throttle pedal, but all cables, connector and modules were dry and didn’t show any sign of water contact. After this check, we also received another error from ODB scanner, P1618.
Well, gearbox was opened and he discovered it was already worked before, but with one detail, valve body wasn’t touched, at all.
While my friend was fixing the gearbox, I asked if I could take the opportunity to change the old conduits, he as a good friend, gave me green lights…
I knew the car was hit some years ago, on the passenger side, but was light crash, only a broken headlight lens and bend on the fender and a dent on the bonet; While changing the conduits I found one broken wire (that goes from the water reservoir to somewhere towards the back of the car ) and one exposed (this one I didn’t manage to track) - pics attached -, I fixed them properly… and removed the siren, that showed later a corroded circuit board.
Gearbox ready, new fluid on, everything on, but front bumper and headlights and engine at 1500 rpm, so I came to a sad thought it would be the ETM, but weirdly, as the service was done 40.000km back. And the OBD scanner showed no errors. We were preparing it to the adaptation but was low on gas; we drove till the gas station without any issues, no alarms on transmission nor for alarm system (siren removed), sunroof working, but, message stating left rear door was open… but it was pretty closed.
We drove for 3 small blocks till the gas station and returned to the shop, where we saw a leakage on sealing for axel on the gearbox. Day after the seal was changed and everything good to go, car running on neutral for some time without issues and at normal speed, my friend checked ETM and he said it was pretty clean.
As soon he installed back the headlights and bumper, He turned the car on guess what… gears couldn’t be engaged, car didn’t move at all, still there… waiting for salvation hehe.
Code P0753 says it may be shift solenoid harness… but without headlights installed in, the car works fine.
Would any of you guys have an idea about what it would be?

UPDATE:
ECM and TCM removed and reinstaled. Car was able to move and driving it following points were noticed:
The car seems to have no power at all, feels like a 1.0 engine;
4th gear have hard time to engage if the car is strongly accelarated ;
On 5th gear, when the car get around 80-90 km/h the shift drops to 4th and stays there, until the car is restarted;
Oh, by the way, right side headlight wont turn on, again...
Hope someone got insights on this :-/

I think you should check the compression to make sure you have a chance to get the engine to run well,first.

But it was running brutally fine, the gentleman who worked on my engine, work only with volvos since 1974 is well known for his amazing skills. The whole thing this time happened after that transmission failure... Do you think the electronic part of the ETM may be ruined?
