98 v70 silver spray paint?

Post by Ou2mame »

I want to paint my dad's rear bumper before the winter, the side is scuffed up pretty bad. I'm not looking for perfection, just better. I've painted bumpers before with spray cans and had pretty good results, so I'm just wondering if anyone knows a good place to get some affordable cans?

Autozone has a generic silver that's pretty close. It's pretty reasonably priced as well.

You can get your paint locally from any automotive paint supplier in a buzz can. Look on the car's data plate for the paint code.

My local Sherwin Williams automotive paint shop mixed up some rattle cans for me for about $20 each. Clear coat was another $20 per can. It's great paint, though

The paint code is 426-46.. If the autozone silver is a close match maybe I'll just go that route and see how it turns out. I have replaced a few bumpers and used paint from autozone or Napa and it turned out really good, but this was on American cars and they has matched paint in stock.

I have used the stuff from www.paintscratch.com with great results. It is dead on in terms of color since they custom mix it to your paint code. They aren't terribly expensive but you can get the clear coat cheaper at local auto parts stores.

Here's a pic of the Sherwin-Williams Volvo #426 custom mixed spray bomb and spray max #368 0061 clear coat. I did the entire rear bumper.
