1998 v70r - what connector is this?

Post by Bren »

I was cleaning up and checking some of my hoses tonight and in the area of the PTC on the intake hose I find this rogue connector (confirmed it is not the PTC connector) that's kinda just hanging around beside the PTC nipple itself... I pull on it and pull this whole thing out - wires are just cut on the end - it was just hanging there...

Anyone recognize what this might be from?

If it's the o2-sensor (which it certainly looks like), take a look here: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... 5&p=103622 to get an idea of where to plug it back in. :)

OP: It is definitely an oxygen sensor plug. So unless the car has a check engine light, it is likely that piece was left over from a previous removal/install of an oxygen sensor.

Sh1t.

Well... OP should definitely still check and see that there's an O2 sensor plugged in. Though the lack of one would probably have been evident...

Someone likely replaced an O2 sensor and cut the wires to save some time in removing it. If you don't have any codes for it then I'm sure the sensors are plugged fine. But you might want to check to be sure.
