Hello everyone
Can anyone advise what interval (currently completed ~135k km) the timing belt on the T6 engine should be replaced. I searched the forum to no avail.
Thanks
Matt

Get that thing out of there!! The interval is closer to 105K miles and you are skating on thin ice (or is it sinking into quicksand; I can't remember
)
Replace with INA roller and tensioner. The belt should be Conti, Gates or Bando (my own faves)
Check the water pump bearing for play and for leaks though usually they are pretty robust and need replacement every other timing system change.

You are saying it was done at 135? or that you are 20k overdue? Mechanical tensioner engines in the early 200s were 105 interval as Mike said.
Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )
2004 XC90 T6 AWD: 186k, 60 on transaxle ( traded in )
1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)

http://new.volvocars.com/ownersdocs/200 ... nance.html this is for 2004 2.9lT6
here in US we only got 5 or 8 cyl for 06. Is yours a 2.9 or 3.2?

Sorry, should have clarified. 135k km not miles so roughly 88k miles. Looks like it should be ok for a while yet but may do it early anyway.

Timing chain on 3.2 requires no replacement.
