new injectors 850 GLT

Post by jantt »

Hi

My 850 GLT 1992 comes from factory with 200 cc injectors and I just installed 315 cc injectors.

Now the engine is a bit shaky and code 5-1-2 comes.

Is it because the new injectors just have to be driven in or can I not just install larger injectors ?

Had to put the old injectors back and it drives fine again.

Waste of money to buy new injectors.
Thought with more air intake, larger injectors and my chipbox (doesn`t seem to work at all) I could get some more power.
Have to wait to I get money to a turbo.

Cars are ENGINEERED to run good/perfect with the installed rated equipment. If your injectors are faulty, you have to get injectors with the same cc flow rate.

If you are looking for more performance, do yourself a favor and purchase a faster car. Fortunate for you, there is a similar model that comes turbo.

Larger injectors alone don't result in a more power.
You will need a lot of things for just around 20-25 hp gain max on a non turbo engine. It just isn't worth time or money.
Turbo engines are totally different story.
