I managed to get the radiator out today. have done at least 5 on a s70 but the s60 is a little different. On the s70 the intercooler came out with the radiator on the s60 doesn't seem to be the case.
The intercooler and condenser are just hanging now.
Have a few questions they are related to reinstalling the radiator given the issues in getting it out.
Should I attachthe intercooler and condenser together and in place before I attempt to slide the radiator up. Someone mentioned to take the lower two screws and mount from the back to hold the intercooler and condenser together.
The issue I had getting the radiator out was clearing the intercooler hose pipe on the passenger side. and the condenser piping on driver side
Any insights on reinstalling it would be helpful

I'm replacing the radiator today on a 2001 XC70. I have the same questions. Vida doesn't answer them. Vida suggests to tie the condenser before dropping the radiator and intercooler. Tie it how? I couldn't even see it let alone find a point to tie it from when it was all sandwiched together.
Tieing is possible once it's all apart but even then the condenser wants to push itself toward the engine.
I am surprised you got yours in from the top. Was it a turbo car? That is a really tight job!!

Now you know why I drained the refrigerant and pulled the radiator/intercooler/condenser sandwich out as a whole unit on my S60 a month or so ago. In and out from the bottom. Had no desire to mess around with hanging the others up... then fighting the four (4) 6mmx72mm bolts that hold them together. This was actually due to lack of knowledge on this particular system. Worked out though... I don't lose... I only win or learn (same thing to me). The bottom half of my condenser fins were staved right over and replaced that too. Thinking it's part of my cooling issue I had when it was 70+ deg F outside. We'll see tho.

Well I managed to save the ozone layer today by not releasing those refrigerants that would have cost me a $140 on site service call to replace. We don't have the luxury of being able to buy refrigerant in cans here. The government took that liberty away from us Aussies more than 20 years ago.
Tied the condensor with releasable heavy duty zip ties and loosened the upper transmission cooler hose nut on the valve body pan so I could rotate the hose 30 degrees. Also I removed the connector block for the transmission connectors from the metal bracket. Also removed rhe 10mm nut on the front right side of the crossmember as per Vida's instructions.
I removed the 2 thin zinced brackets at the top of the radiator for more clearance.
After tying back pretty much anything that even looked remotely intrusive I was able to drop the radiator and intercooler down very slowly and with mutliple snags on the way down. They were tied together at the top by releasable zip ties. First I bolted in the 2 x 12mm large bolts from underneath then I moved to the lower 10mm bolts then the upper ones.
I forgot to connect the small coolant reservoir hose while I had a chance however it still had the oetiker clamp attached so I cheated and used a small dab of assembly grease inside the hose and grabbed it with a long nosed pliers so it could be forced back onto the nipple on the radiator.
