Sloppy shifting 2003 XC70

Shortly after buying our 2003 XC70 with 36K miles on it, I took it to the dealer because it would often miss a shift (usually 3 to 4). The dealer reloaded the firmware and things got better. However, I still consider the shifting to be sloppy - not crisp. Is this typical of this car or do I need to be more persistent with the dealer?
